Choose OpenArt if you work mostly in images or multi-scene stories and want the lower monthly price: $13 against $19 at Starter and $27 against $47 at Plus, both billed annually.
Choose Higgsfield if your work is short video on named models and you want to price each clip by model before you generate; it also runs effects and swap pages.
No winner per clip: the per-video price ranges overlap, and we ran no same-prompt test on either side, so we make no claim about image or video quality.
Prices read on openart.ai/pricing (Oct 21, 2026) and higgsfield.ai/pricing (Oct 20, 2026), US, excluding taxes. Credits are different units on each side, so the counts do not compare one to one.

Plan prices side by side (checked 2026-10-21)
OpenArt charges less per month at every tier on 2026-10-21. Higgsfield is the video-first tool and OpenArt the image-and-story tool, but both make both; we have no OpenArt account (not tested as of 2026-10-21). Which is cheaper for you turns on how many credits your models burn per clip. Our Higgsfield guide covers the rest of the tool.
Plan | Annual billing | Monthly billing | Credits per month | $ per credit (annual) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
OpenArt Starter | $13 | $14 | 4,000 | $0.0033 |
OpenArt Plus | $27 | $34 | 12,000 | $0.0023 |
OpenArt Pro | $44 | $56 | 24,000 | $0.0018 |
OpenArt Wonder | $175 | $240 | 106,000 | $0.0017 |
Higgsfield Starter | $19 | $19 | 270 | $0.0704 |
Higgsfield Plus | $47 | $59 | 1,200 | $0.0392 |
Higgsfield Ultra | $99 | $129 | about 3,000 (derived) | $0.0330 |
Sources: openart.ai/pricing (fetched 2026-10-21; the page shows the annual rate by default) and higgsfield.ai/pricing (crawled 2026-10-20). $ per credit is our division of price by credits. The Higgsfield Ultra card shows only “1500 Nano Banana Pro generations”; at 2 credits each that gives 3,000, which we label derived. The page’s comparison table lists 3000 in its Credits row, which matches. Checked 2026-10-21 by editorial review.
On pricing per credit, a Higgsfield credit at Starter costs about 22 times an OpenArt Starter credit ($0.0704 against $0.00325). That ratio says nothing about value, because one clip burns a different number of credits on each side.
Which is cheaper per video?
Neither side wins per video on list prices checked 2026-10-21; the answer is a range. Higgsfield publishes a credit cost per model, resolution and length for its video models (pricing page, crawled 2026-10-20). OpenArt shows the exact cost only in its generator, next to the Generate button (help center, fetched 2026-10-21). Its help center does give a rough guide: video costs “100–800+ credits depending on model, duration, and resolution”.
The OpenArt plan cards say something else. The Starter card lists “Up to ~50 videos (excluding Director)” on 4,000 credits, which is 80 credits per video. Plus (150 videos on 12,000) and Pro (300 on 24,000) also work out to 80. That figure sits below the help center’s 100-credit floor, and the cards name no model, length or resolution. At the help-center range, Starter covers 5 to 40 videos a month, not 50 (our division).
Cost of one video | Credits | Dollars |
|---|---|---|
OpenArt, Starter annual, help-center range | 100 to 800+ | $0.33 to $2.60+ |
OpenArt, Plus annual, help-center range | 100 to 800+ | $0.23 to $1.80+ |
OpenArt, Starter to Pro annual, plan-card figure | 80 | $0.15 to $0.26 |
Higgsfield Plus annual, Kling 3.0 720p, 5 s | ~7 | $0.27 |
Higgsfield Plus annual, Seedance 2.0 720p, 5 s | ~22 | $0.86 |
Higgsfield Plus annual, Veo 3.1 720p, 4 s | ~40 | $1.57 |
Higgsfield Plus annual, Seedance 2.0 1080p, 5 s | ~60 | $2.35 |
Higgsfield credits: pricing page, crawled 2026-10-20 (“~” is the page’s mark). Dollars: our calculation at each plan’s annual $ per credit, rounded to the cent. The plan-card row is 80 credits at the Pro ($0.15), Plus ($0.18) and Starter ($0.26) rates. We ran no OpenArt generation and no Higgsfield video on 2026-10-21, so every figure is a list value, not a charge we saw. Higgsfield still lists Sora 2, but OpenAI dates the Sora API shutdown to 2026-09-24 (help.openai.com, fetched 2026-10-21), so we leave it out.
The ranges overlap. A Higgsfield Kling 3.0 clip at $0.27 sits inside OpenArt Plus’s $0.23 to $1.80+ band, so the cheaper side depends on the model you pick. For one 5-second clip, nothing in the list data decides it.
Images follow the same pattern. The Starter card says “Up to ~4,000 images”, which is 1 credit each. The help center gives 5 to 50 credits per image, so 4,000 credits buy 80 to 800 images (our division). Higgsfield lists Nano Banana Pro at 2 credits, so Plus buys 600 images (pricing page, 2026-10-20).
What a month buys at Plus: OpenArt gives 15 to 120 videos by the help-center range and “Up to ~150” by the card (12,000 credits). Higgsfield gives 171 Kling 3.0 720p clips, 30 Veo 3.1 720p clips or 20 Seedance 2.0 1080p clips (1,200 credits divided by 7, 40 and 60). OpenArt Plus costs $27 a month and Higgsfield Plus $47, both billed annually.

The same OpenArt pricing page, checked 2026-10-27, also offers 50% off Kling 4.0 generations on Wonder or Pro until Nov 20, 2026. Why the credit numbers you read elsewhere don’t match
We checked six claims from Google US results for “higgsfield vs openart” (snapshot 2026-10-20) against the vendor pages. One is confirmed, one holds for a single model, two are wrong and two stay unverified.
Claim | Where | Verdict as of 2026-10-21 |
|---|---|---|
"4,000 credits for $13/mo versus 120 for $19/mo" | openart.ai comparison page, snippet | OpenArt side confirmed. Higgsfield side wrong: Starter lists 270 credits for $19 |
"Higgsfield starts at $9.99/month while OpenArt starts at $12/month" | promptsrush.com snippet | Wrong on both: Higgsfield Starter is $19, OpenArt Starter $13 annual or $14 monthly |
"80 credits for a 4-second 720p clip, about 28 cents" | droidcrunch.com snippet | Not verified: 80 credits matches OpenArt's plan-card arithmetic, but the cards name no model, length or resolution, and the help center's floor is 100. $0.28 matches Starter monthly ($0.0035 x 80) |
"Higgsfield charges about 40 credits" | droidcrunch.com snippet | Holds for Veo 3.1 at 720p, 4 s (~40 credits). The snippet's next sentence mentions Veo but no version; Kling 3.0 720p lists ~7 |
"OpenArt Starter is $13/mo for 4000 credits; Higgsfield Starter is $19/mo for 270 — but the credits are not the same unit" | imgtoimg-ai.com snippet | Confirmed |
"50 daily credits" free tier, "no watermarks" | promptsrush.com snippet; "50 daily credits" also in Google's AI Overview | "50 daily credits" not verified; "no watermarks" contradicted for video. See the free-plan section |
We read search snippets, not the full third-party pages. The openart.ai snippet is cut off after “24,000 credits for $44/mo versus”, so we check only its OpenArt number: $44 and 24,000 credits match the Pro card.
Which has better character consistency?
Not tested as of 2026-10-21: we have no OpenArt account, so we ran no side-by-side character test. OpenArt documents a Characters feature that works across images and videos (help center, fetched 2026-10-21). It offers three ways to create one: from a photo, from a text description, or from a builder panel. Plan cards list “Up to ~13 consistent characters” at Starter and “Up to ~353” at Wonder (pricing page, fetched 2026-10-21). OpenArt also offers LoRA model training, which its help center says runs only in the previous version of OpenArt for now.
Higgsfield’s comparison table lists “Access to characters” on every plan, the free tier included. The same page prices Character Swap at about 2 credits per image (crawled 2026-10-20). Our fetched Higgsfield pages give no character count. Our 2026-10-21 log marks identity as held in three Higgsfield runs with a reference image and drifted in a fourth (hair darker and straighter). All four were requested as Nano Banana Pro at 2 credits each, and the job records report nano_banana_2; we draw no conclusion from that label. Four runs on one vendor are a sample, not a ranking.
Which has more templates and effects? Does OpenArt have face swap?
Not verified as of 2026-10-21: we counted neither catalog. Higgsfield runs an Effects catalog plus separate Face Swap and Character Swap pages (crawled 2026-10-20). Its face-swap page claims 5 free image swaps per day and puts video swaps on paid plans; that vendor claim is not tested. OpenArt’s 72-answer help center, fetched 2026-10-21, mentions no face swap and no templates. Whether OpenArt offers face swap elsewhere on its site is not verified as of 2026-10-21. Its help center lists One Click Story for multi-scene videos up to 3 minutes, and its plan cards list an image editing suite.
Which has a better free plan?
Neither vendor states a free credit number we can confirm as of 2026-10-21. Higgsfield has no trial; its free tier offers a limited set of models and no credits (help center, fetched 2026-10-21; the pricing table lists 0 credits). OpenArt’s pricing page shows no Free card. Its help center says new accounts “automatically receive a set of free credits”, but it gives no amount and mentions no daily refill (fetched 2026-10-21). Free OpenArt users cannot remove the watermark from videos, while paid plans can download without it. So “no watermarks” is contradicted for video.
- Free on Higgsfield: a limited model set and no credits; details on our free page.
- Free elsewhere: OpenArt’s sign-up credits, amount not verified as of 2026-10-21; other routes on our alternatives page.
- Paying makes sense when the free tier lacks the models you need, or when you need commercial use: OpenArt grants it from Plus, and Higgsfield’s comparison table lists it from Starter.
Verdict: OpenArt if…, Higgsfield if…
The Higgsfield vs OpenArt choice follows your job and your models, not a quality ranking (checked 2026-10-21).
Pick OpenArt if you work mostly in images or multi-scene stories and want the lower monthly price at each tier. Its plan cards also state a character count. Its cheapest plan with commercial use is Plus at $27. Pick Higgsfield if your work is short video on named models and you will price each clip by model; it also runs effects and swap pages. Its cheapest plan with commercial use is Starter at $19, per its comparison table. Both vendors refund little: OpenArt is “generally unable”, and Higgsfield refunds only a first purchase within 7 days with zero credits spent.
