Higgsfield’s own Genjutsu “Trending” list held 30 presets on 2026-10-21, and a preset called “Chandelier Lounge Performance” ranked third (Higgsfield catalog via MCP, read-only browse, 2026-10-21). Which social trend it reproduces is not verified as of 2026-10-21. We did not run it because its driving video shows real people, so our output would carry their likenesses and someone else’s music video. This page gives the dated ranking and the check that led to that decision.
What is Higgsfield Genjutsu?
Genjutsu is Higgsfield’s video-to-video tool: its page says you can “transfer its motion into a new cast, location or look, or swap selected elements” of an existing video (higgsfield.ai/genjutsu, Google US results on 2026-10-20). Higgsfield’s trending templates are the ready-made route. A preset is Higgsfield’s version of a viral video template, built on a fixed driving video. You add your own reference image, and the tool puts your image into that video (Higgsfield catalog, 2026-10-21).
It works in two modes. Motion transfer copies the actions and camera of the driving video onto your reference image. Object replacement swaps one element of the driving video, such as the person or a product, for yours.
The term is not the anime one. “Genjutsu” is also an illusion technique in Naruto; this page covers only the Higgsfield tool. Kapwing, citing Higgsfield’s blog, says Genjutsu accepts reference videos of 3 to 30 seconds (kapwing.com, crawled 2026-10-20). Google’s AI Overview for “higgsfield genjutsu” gives the same 30-second ceiling (Google US results on 2026-10-20). We did not verify that limit on a Higgsfield page.
The preset decides the motion and the camera. Your image decides who appears. That split is why the preset needs checking before you upload anything.
Which viral trends are Genjutsu presets? (Trending list, 2026-10-21)
The 30 presets below are Higgsfield’s own “Trending” order, read through the Higgsfield MCP on 2026-10-21 without generating anything. The order will have changed; this is a dated snapshot, not a live chart. Here are the top 10.
Rank | Preset name (Higgsfield catalog) |
|---|---|
1 | Parking Lot Recast |
2 | Rugside Outfit Swap |
3 | Chandelier Lounge Performance |
4 | Football Showstopper |
5 | Athlete Dance Swap |
6 | Survivor Memory Montage |
7 | Studio Rap Performance |
8 | Manor Bridge Blast |
9 | Street Style Swap |
10 | Truck Stop Groove |
Ranks 11 to 30, in order: Arcade Identity Swap, Skyway Chase, Jersey Detail Zoom, Boutique Terrace Dance, Studio Pop Duo, Rug Transition Swap, Cyber Hologram Encounter, Hyperdrive Ramp Jump, Industrial Liquid Forge, Ponytail Dance Spin, Canine Rhythm Flow, Convertible Drift Swap, Subway Hero Swap, Minimal Studio Editorial, Unboxed Item Swap, Redlit Crowd Motion, Custom Car Replacement, Nightclub Balcony Observer, Feline Dance Duo, Dynamic Studio Duo.
Names containing “Swap” or “Replacement” point to object replacement. Names with “Dance” or “Performance” point to motion transfer. That reading comes from the names alone and is not verified as of 2026-10-21.
Which preset is which social trend?
Neither mapping is verified as of 2026-10-21, and our first guess conflicts with how trend pages describe the trends. We saw both previews during our test session on 2026-10-21. Higgsfield’s catalog gives no trend names for presets, so we report the names it uses.
Chandelier Lounge Performance. The preview shows a chandelier lounge and a group performance. Our first test-log note matched it to the hotel lobby trend by eye; the log’s correction of 2026-10-21 withdrew that match. Hotel lobby trend pages describe a different set: an orange booth with one hanging microphone, usually with two performers (dreamina.capcut.com, monet.vision, kapwing.com, crawled 2026-10-20). Pages for the Burning Bridges trend describe a chandelier-lit party with a crowd (dreamina.capcut.com, goenhance.ai, crawled 2026-10-20). That is closer to this preview. We draw no conclusion until a run or Higgsfield itself names the trend.
Manor Bridge Blast. The preview shows a mansion and a bridge, with explosions. The word “Bridge” in the name first linked it to the Burning Bridges trend, also called the Drake burning bridges trend. The Burning Bridges pages we crawled describe a party scene and mention no bridge or explosion. A shared word in a name is weak evidence.
For what is circulating right now, the trends hub is the place to look; this page covers the tool behind the clips.
How to check a Genjutsu preset before you use it
Run four checks on the driving video before you upload a reference image. A trending preset looks like a one-click recreate of a viral clip, but you inherit what is in its driving video. Each check takes one watch of the preview.
- Real, identifiable people? If the driving video shows real people, the output can carry their likenesses even after you replace one face. Our rule is your own photo or a consenting adult only (content policy).
- Music or a recognizable performance? A music video’s soundtrack or choreography can be someone else’s work, and so can its staging. Remove the audio at minimum, and treat a recognizable performance as a rights question.
- Whose face goes in? Your own photo, a consenting adult’s, or a fictional character you made. A celebrity or stranger photo is out.
- What does the preset keep? Motion and camera come from the driving video. Whether the set stays is not tested, so assume it does. If the set or the choreography is the recognizable part, changing the face does not fix it.
What we decided on Chandelier Lounge Performance
Chandelier Lounge Performance failed checks 1 and 2 on 2026-10-21. Its driving video shows real people performing, and the look matches a music-video style. Our test log marks the Genjutsu video as skipped for that reason: no generation was made and no credits were charged. The same log notes that Manor Bridge Blast was not run either.
Not every preset on the list carries this problem. We did not open the preview for the other 28, so we make no claim about them. Run the four checks on each one you pick.
How to use a Genjutsu template, step by step
Higgsfield’s MCP describes the input on 2026-10-21 as your reference image plus the preset’s driving video. Everything after the click is not tested, because we did not run a Genjutsu job.
- Open Genjutsu and choose a preset from the Trending list. The tool sits at higgsfield.ai/ai/video?model=genjutsu (Higgsfield navigation, crawled 2026-10-20).
- Watch the driving-video preview and run the four checks above.
- Upload your reference image: your own photo, front-facing, sharp.
- Read the credit cost on the Generate button before you confirm (why). Queue time and render time: not tested.
- Download the output and check it for drift from your reference. Remove or replace any audio you do not own.
Disclosure: we may earn a commission if you subscribe through our Higgsfield links, and the links are marked “(commission link)”. It does not change what we test. Details are on affiliate disclosure.
To open the tool: Higgsfield Genjutsu (commission link). As of 2026-10-21 the link opens Higgsfield’s apps catalog (higgsfield.ai/apps), and Genjutsu sits in that page’s navigation (crawled 2026-10-20).
How many credits does Genjutsu cost?
The credit cost of one Genjutsu run is not verified as of 2026-10-21. It does not appear on the Higgsfield pricing page we crawled on 2026-10-20, and we ran no Genjutsu job, so we have no charged figure. Third-party pages quote numbers; we do not repeat them, because we could not confirm them on a Higgsfield page.
Higgsfield’s help center says a generation’s cost depends on the model, resolution and duration. It adds that “the exact cost is shown on the Generate button before you confirm” (help center, fetched 2026-10-21). That button is the only price to trust until we log a run.
The pricing page names Genjutsu on three plan cards (higgsfield.ai/pricing, crawled 2026-10-20). The Starter card lists “Higgsfield Genjutsu” with the line “No free gens”. The Plus and Ultra cards list it with “720p”. What each line grants per run is not verified as of 2026-10-21. For plan prices and what a credit buys, see credit cost on the pricing page.
Did Genjutsu prices change? Not verified as of 2026-10-21. Our 2026-10-20 crawl is the first Genjutsu price record we hold. With nothing earlier to compare, we cannot confirm or rule out a price increase.
Is there a free one-time Genjutsu creation?
A free one-time Genjutsu creation is not verified as of 2026-10-21, and we did not test it. Higgsfield’s help center says “There’s no trial period” and points to a free tier with a limited set of models (help center, fetched 2026-10-21). On the Starter card, the Genjutsu line reads “No free gens” (higgsfield.ai/pricing, crawled 2026-10-20).
Users in one Reddit thread disagree. One commenter advised to “use the free one time option” (r/AI_Agents, 2026-09-28) and later said it appears at 480p. Another replied the same day: “There is no free option lol it’s a scam” (r/AI_Agents, 2026-09-28). Our log has no entry for a 480p offer: we skipped the run before checking. Both camps are laid out on our one-time 480p section.
Free alternatives to Genjutsu: none verified for motion transfer
No tool we checked says on its own pages that a free account can run motion transfer, as of 2026-10-21. Three tools describe the feature. Two offer free credits of unpublished size, and the third lists free credits that exclude AI video. On Higgsfield, Kling Motion Control is another motion-transfer route, and the Free plan excludes it.
Tool | Motion transfer, on its own page | Free route, on its own page | Free route covers motion transfer? |
|---|---|---|---|
Kling | Kling Motion Control: "recreate complex movement and accurate facial expression" (kling.ai plan page, fetched 2026-10-21) | Monthly free credits for non-subscribers, amount not published (kling.ai FAQ, fetched 2026-10-21) | Not verified as of 2026-10-21 |
DomoAI | "Upload reference images or videos to guide AI - transfer dance moves" (domoai.app, crawled 2026-10-20) | "a free plan with credits", amount not published (domoai.app, crawled 2026-10-20) | Not verified as of 2026-10-21 |
Kapwing | Kling Motion Control inside its Kai editor, per Kapwing's own guide (kapwing.com, crawled 2026-10-20) | Free plan: 10 credits, listed as usable for auto-subtitling and text to speech (kapwing.com/pricing, crawled 2026-10-20) | No, by that list |
We tested none of these tools for motion transfer. Kling’s FAQ says watermark removal is available “only with an active Subscription” (fetched 2026-10-21); our Kling review has the rest. Kapwing also publishes its own Genjutsu alternatives test (kapwing.com, crawled 2026-10-20). That is a competitor’s test, not ours.
The four checks above apply in any of these tools: real people or music in a driving video carry the same likeness and rights problem.
