Best for: Kling AI image to video bought direct, including Kling 4.0, with commercial use on a paid plan. Standard costs $8.80 a month for 660 credits at the renewal price, and monthly credits expire after 31 days.
Free access: a $0 Basic account gets monthly credits for non-subscribers, but Kling publishes no amount, so we print none.
Our testing status: not tested on Kling's own site. We have no Kling account, so every Kling claim on this page is Kling's own and dated. We ran Kling 3.0 only inside Higgsfield: our logs for 2026-10-26 and 2026-10-27 hold 8 finished clips (6 text- or image-to-video, 2 Motion Control) and 2 failed Motion Control runs, both refunded. Four of those clips are on our pages: an earth zoom out, a Motion Control dance, a dancing dog and a hug next to Hailuo 02 on the same start frame. That is too few for a claim about output quality.
Kling membership page and FAQ, US prices read Oct 21, 2026; monthly prices re-read Oct 27, 2026, unchanged. Standard's $6.99 first month is a first-purchase offer; on Oct 27 the page still printed offer end dates of Oct 29 and Dec 31, 2026 without saying which plan each covers. All plans and prices

Verdict: use Kling if, skip it if (checked 2026-10-21)
Use Kling AI image to video direct if you want Kling 4.0 (the highest version on Kling’s membership page) with commercial rights. The trade-off: monthly credits expire after 31 days. Skip it if you need a guaranteed free amount: Kling states none, so we print none.
Your situation | Use Kling direct | Look elsewhere |
|---|---|---|
Try before paying | Log in and check the credit balance in the left sidebar; the amount is not published | No other tool on this page publishes a free credit amount either (checked 2026-10-21) |
Posts for a client or a brand | A paid plan; the FAQ grants commercial use to paid subscribers only | A free account has no stated commercial rights |
Occasional clips, no subscription | Buy credits at $1 = 66 credits, valid 2 years; bought credits bring no subscriber features such as watermark removal | Compare the per-clip price on Higgsfield (section at the end) |
Heavy monthly use | Premier or Ultra+, the lowest price per credit | Unused monthly credits are lost after 31 days |
Paying makes sense when you need 1080p/4K output, watermark removal or commercial use; Kling lists each of them as subscriber-only.
Is Kling AI free? Daily credits and limits
Kling AI is free to join, but no official page states how many credits a free account gets (kling.ai membership page and FAQ, fetched 2026-10-21). The FAQ lists “Monthly Free Credits for Non-Subscribers: claimed upon login each month and valid for 31 days”.
Kling’s wording describes three kinds of no-cost credits, and two of them reach a non-subscriber: the monthly login credits and occasional promotional campaigns that “grant free Credits”, each with its own validity. Daily bonus credits are for subscribers only. They arrive on the first login each day and expire at 24:00 local time. The FAQ ties them to “promotional periods”, so Kling does not promise them year-round.
The FAQ also mentions a 7-Day Trial and a Gold 7-Day Pass. The membership page we fetched shows no price or terms for either: not verified as of 2026-10-21.
Community reports fit this picture without filling the gap. A subscriber on r/KlingAI_Videos says the daily amount varies and spends it on reference images (F#179, 2026-07-28). It is one user’s report, not a Kling figure, so we print no amount. A thread titled “Made with kling 3.0 free credits” (F#167, about 2026-07-08) gives no amount. A thread from about 2026-01-20 claims “KlingAI O1 has unlimited free image generation” (F#171). We did not find that on Kling’s current official pages: not verified as of 2026-10-21.
Three gaps stay open:
- Watermark on free output: expected from Kling’s Credits Policy wording, not tested. The policy lists watermark removal as premium-only, and the FAQ ties it to an active subscription.
- Which models free credits can use, image to video included: not verified as of 2026-10-21.
- The free credit amount: not stated by Kling.
Free elsewhere: Higgsfield’s free tier has a limited model set and no trial (Higgsfield help center, fetched 2026-10-21; what is free on Higgsfield). We verified no other free route.
Kling pricing and cost per clip
Standard costs $8.80 a month for 660 credits after a $6.99 first month, a first-purchase offer; Ultra+ gives 57,000 credits for $544.99 a month after a $402 first month (kling.ai membership page, monthly view, re-checked 2026-10-27 from a US connection). At renewal, the monthly price per 100 credits falls from $1.33 on Standard to $0.96 on Ultra+ (our calculation from those prices).
This table is the kling-plans record, checked 2026-10-21 against kling.ai/app/membership/membership-plan (monthly and yearly view); the monthly columns were re-checked 2026-10-27 and had not changed. Renewal $ per 100 credits is our calculation: renewal price divided by credits.
Plan | Credits per month | Monthly: first month, then | $ per 100 credits monthly: first month (Kling), then renewal (our calc.) | Yearly: first year, then | $ per 100 credits yearly: first year (Kling), then renewal (our calc.) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Basic | not published (shown as "-") | $0 | n/a | n/a | n/a |
Standard | 660 | $6.99, then $8.80 | $1.06, then $1.33 | $79.20, then $79.20 | $1.00, then $1.00 |
Pro | 3,000 | $25.99, then $32.56 | $0.87, then $1.09 | $293.04, then $293.04 | $0.81, then $0.81 |
Premier (18,000 tier) | 18,000 | $135, then $181.99 | $0.75, then $1.01 | $1,490, then $1,639.99 | $0.69, then $0.76 |
Ultra+ | 57,000 | $402, then $544.99 | $0.71, then $0.96 | $4,457, then $4,902.99 | $0.65, then $0.72 |
Purchased credits | one-off: $1 = 66 credits (Credits Policy) | n/a | $1.52 (our calc.) | n/a | n/a |
The first-month and first-year prices are first-purchase offers. The page prints “Offer valid until Dec.31, 2026, UTC-8” and “Offer valid until Oct 29, 2026, at 8:00 AM (UTC-7)” without saying which applies to which plan (both still printed on 2026-10-27), so recheck at checkout. After Oct 29, 2026, the first-month figures may no longer apply. The reference prices shown beside the offers ($10 Standard, $37 Pro, $207 Premier, $619 Ultra+) are higher than the stated renewals, so the table uses the “Then” price. Premier also has 8K, 28K and 38K tiers; we captured only 18,000.
A yearly plan still pays out credits monthly: the yearly cards list credits “per month”, and the Credits Policy makes each batch valid 1 month.
From the table, a purchased credit costs $0.0152, more than any subscription credit at monthly renewal ($0.0096 to $0.0133, our calculation). Kling’s FAQ still points occasional users to purchases, and purchased credits last 2 years instead of 31 days.
Credit validity decides what you get for the price:
Credit type | Valid for | Source |
|---|---|---|
Monthly subscription credits | 31 days from issue (the Credits Policy says 1 month) | Kling FAQ and Credits Policy, 2026-10-21 |
Purchased credits | 2 years from purchase | Kling FAQ |
7-Day Trial credits | 7 days from issue | Kling FAQ |
Daily bonus credits (subscribers) | until 24:00 local time the same day | Kling FAQ |
Monthly free credits (non-subscribers) | 31 days, amount not published | Kling FAQ |
Credits that expire sooner are spent first. When a subscription ends, unused monthly credits expire; purchased and promotional credits stay while valid (FAQ).
Cost per clip: Kling’s official pages publish no current per-clip credit cost (not verified as of 2026-10-21). Kling’s credit-cost blog post of 2026-07-28 still lists an Ultra plan, which the FAQ now closes to new subscribers, so we do not use its figures.
Commercial use is paid-only. The FAQ allows it for paid subscribers unless the content builds a product that competes with Kling. Portrait rights and copyright remain the user’s to check, as do AI-labeling rules.
To cancel on Apple, open Settings, tap your Apple ID, then Subscriptions, select the subscription and tap Cancel Subscription. On Google Play, open the Play Store, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions, select it and cancel. On the web, go to Profile, then Manage Plan, then Cancel Subscription. Every plan card says it can be canceled anytime (2026-10-21).
How to turn an image into a video on Kling
Kling documents Kling AI image to video in its own guide at kling.ai/quickstart/image-to-video-guide; its Google snippet of 2026-10-20 promises “motion control, prompt guidance and settings”. We did not run these steps (not run by us in W1) or fetch the guide’s text, so we do not paraphrase it.
What Kling’s own pages state about the run (fetched 2026-10-21):
- Sign in. Credits can only be obtained and used by logged-in users.
- Open Generate in the web app’s top navigation; take the upload and prompt settings from the official guide.
- Expect the charge to depend on outputs, model, duration and resolution. Kling deducts credits when you generate.
- Check the balance in the left sidebar before and after the run. A failed generation returns its credits.
Video length depends on the model. Kling’s Google Play snippet (2026-10-20) claims up to 15 seconds in native 1080p or 4K, with Video Extension for longer clips; the membership page credits Kling 4.0 with “native 30s-generation”. The Credits Policy lists video extension and 1080p video as premium-only. Video length on a free account: not tested.
Kling 3.0 vs 2.x: which version to use
Kling’s membership page of 2026-10-21 lists Kling 4.0 first among its key features: “dynamic motions, Omni reference, native 30s-generation and multiple keyframes”. Kling 4.0 carries a “Limited-Time 10% Off” tag on Pro and the plans above it; Standard shows “-”. Kling 3.0 and 3.0 Omni are described as “synchronized audio-video generation, intelligent storyboarding and element reference”. Each paid plan card lists “VIDEO 2.6 — Voice Control” as “Free”.
We ran no output comparison, so there is no quality ranking; the names matter because access differs by path. Higgsfield’s pricing page, crawled 2026-10-20, lists these Kling models: Kling 3.0, Kling 3.0 Motion Control, Kling Omni 3 Image Reference, Kling Omni 3 FLF, Kling Omni 1, Kling 2.6 (with and without sound), Kling 2.6 Motion Control, Kling 2.5 Turbo, Kling 2.1 and Kling 2.1 Master. For lip sync it lists Kling Speak and Kling Lipsync. Kling 4.0 is not in that crawl. If Kling 4.0 is your reason to pick Kling, go direct.
“Free Kling” sites that are not Kling
Official kling.ai pages hold ranks 1, 3, 4, 5 and 8 for this keyword (Google US, 2026-10-20). Rank 7 is easemate.ai, titled “Convert Image/Text to Video with Kling AI Free”. Rank 10 is vidnoz.com, titled “Kling AI Video Free: Image & Text to Video Generator”. Both snippets say the sites run Kling models.
These third-party sites set their own credit rules and terms. We tested neither. Before you upload a photo, check whose privacy policy applies and whether the output carries commercial rights.
Kling inside Higgsfield vs Kling direct
Higgsfield sells Kling models in its own credit system, so you can reach Kling 3.0 without a Kling account (higgsfield.ai/pricing, crawled 2026-10-20). Kling direct sells credits at $0.0096 to $0.0133 each on monthly renewals (our calculation). Higgsfield credits are a different unit, so the comparison needs a per-clip number; we computed the break-even on Higgsfield vs Kling cost per clip.
Direct gives you Kling’s own plan benefits, such as commercial rights and watermark removal on paid plans; Pro and above add the Kling 4.0 discount. Through Higgsfield you pay its price per generation under its plan terms, with no trial (help center, fetched 2026-10-21); see Higgsfield price per credit.
