Best for: people who want Hailuo image to video and need its free limits and real costs. Our measured route is Higgsfield: 6 credits for one 768p Hailuo 2.3 clip (6 s requested), about $0.24 on the Plus plan (our calculation).
Free access: watermarked downloads and a one-time welcome package of unstated size, per Hailuo's terms (last updated 2025-07-14, checked 2026-10-27). Higgsfield's Free plan shows 0 Hailuo videos (checked 2026-10-20).
Our testing status: three clips through Higgsfield on 2026-10-27: Hailuo 2.3 (this page), Hailuo 02 on a fictional dog (dog dance page) and Hailuo 02 on two fictional adults (our hug video test). We have not tested hailuoai.video itself.

Is Hailuo AI free? (checked 2026-10-27)
Hailuo AI has a free tier with limits, but no free allowance we can put a number on (Hailuo’s terms, last updated 2025-07-14, checked 2026-10-27). Free users download videos with a watermark, queue up to three tasks and generate one video at a time. Accounts created on or after 2025-06-18 get a one-time welcome package of free credits that expires three days after it is granted. The terms do not state the amount.
Standard and higher plans remove the watermark, so paying makes sense when you need clean clips or more than one welcome package.
Higgsfield, where we ran our clips, offers no free Hailuo videos: its Free plan shows 0 videos for Hailuo 02 and 2.3 at 768p and “Not included” at 1080p (pricing page, checked 2026-10-20). Its other free options: what Higgsfield’s free plan covers.
In our Google US snapshot for “hailuo ai” (2026-10-27), most top organic results are other sites' Hailuo generator pages (media.io, imastudio.com, dreamina.capcut.com, vidnoz.com) and reviews (cybernews.com, filmora.wondershare.com). The first hailuoai.com and hailuoai.video pages come 12th and 13th. Several top-10 titles promise “unlimited” or “free” Hailuo, so check who runs the model before you upload a photo.
How to use Hailuo image to video
On Higgsfield, Hailuo image to video takes one start image and one text prompt, with no aspect-ratio or sound setting (our run, 2026-10-27). Our 9:16 start frame came back as 768 x 1376 at 24 fps, with no audio. Higgsfield’s catalog offered two Hailuo video length options on 2026-10-27: 6 s and 10 s.
Pick Minimax Hailuo, variant 2.3, and attach the start image. Choose 768p and 6 s, then read the quote before you submit; ours said 6 credits, and the charge matched. Describe one concrete action sequence. We reused our Seedance 2.0 prompt word for word:
Tested prompt
The woman from the start frame smiles, takes two relaxed steps toward the camera, stops, gives a small wave with her right hand and tucks a curl behind her ear. Static camera, plain beige studio backdrop, natural realistic movement.
On hailuoai.video, the homepage offers Sign In, Create Video and Create Image (checked 2026-10-27). We did not sign in, so the direct upload steps are not verified as of 2026-10-27. We also ran no clip on MiniMax H3, the model the homepage banner announces.
What one Hailuo 2.3 clip cost us, and what it shows
One Hailuo 2.3 clip cost 6 credits: 768p, 6 s requested, image to video from a fixed start frame, one try (Higgsfield, 2026-10-27). A requested 6 s arrived as 5.875 s, as our Hailuo 02 dog clip did the same day. The start frame is a still of our fictional, AI-generated test character, an input not shown here.
What the clip shows (AI-generated test video, from our log):
- Followed. She takes two or three steps toward the camera in the first 2.5 seconds, then stands with a small sway and a closed-mouth smile. She waves with her right hand at about 5 seconds and raises a hand to her hairline at about 5.5 seconds. By eye, the waving hand keeps five fingers; our log marks identity as held.
- Defect 1, crammed timing. The wave and the hair touch share the last second, and the clip ends on the hair touch.
- Defect 2, cropping. The camera is static, so her feet cross the bottom edge from about 3 seconds.
- Defect 3, the wrong gesture. “Tucks a curl behind her ear” became a hand at the temple.
We kept the single clip. A retry costs another 6 credits.
Same input as Seedance 2.0: 6 credits against 22.5
We ran Seedance 2.0 on the identical start frame and prompt a day earlier (our Seedance page):
Our run on Higgsfield | Hailuo 2.3, 2026-10-27 | Seedance 2.0, 2026-10-26 |
|---|---|---|
Settings | 768p, 6 s requested, no sound | 720p, 5 s, no sound |
Credits charged, tries | 6, 1 | 22.5, 1 |
Length delivered | 5.875 s | 5.04 s |
Feet leave the frame | yes, from about 3 s | yes, legs cropped at the knees by the end |
Ear tuck | missed (hand at the temple) | missed (hand at the hairline and forehead) |
Added item | none seen | a ring not in the reference |
Seedance 2.0 cost 3.75 times as many credits (22.5 / 6) for one clip at a different resolution and length. One run each on one input supports nothing more, and we rank neither model.
Google Veo 3.1 returned status “nsfw” on this start frame and prompt three times on 2026-10-27: twice on Veo 3.1 Fast (4 s, 16 credits each) and once on Veo 3.1 Lite (4 s, 6 credits). Higgsfield refunded all three. The frame shows a fully clothed adult on a plain backdrop, and we do not know why Veo refused it. It is one frame, so we draw no conclusion about how strict any model’s filter is.
Hailuo 02 vs 2.3: what each costs on Higgsfield
A 768p, 6 s clip costs 6 credits on both Hailuo 02 and Hailuo 2.3 (our charges on Higgsfield, 2026-10-27). The other rows are Higgsfield quotes from the same day; the 6 s rows match its 2026-10-20 pricing page.
Model and setting | Credits | Basis |
|---|---|---|
Hailuo 2.3, 768p, 6 s | 6 | our charge, this page |
Hailuo 02, 768p, 6 s | 6 | our charge, dog clip |
Hailuo 2.3 Fast, 768p, 6 s | 4 | quote only, not run |
Hailuo 2.3, 1080p, 6 s | 10 | quote only |
Hailuo 02, 1080p, 6 s | 10 | quote only |
Hailuo 2.3, 768p, 10 s | 11 | quote only |
On Plus ($47 a month for 1,200 credits billed annually, $59 billed monthly; checked 2026-10-20), 6 credits is about $0.24 and 10 credits about $0.39 (our calculation, before taxes and promotions). We ran 02 and 2.3 on different inputs, so we state no quality gap between them. Credit rows for every model: Higgsfield credit costs.
Hailuo plans and credits (checked 2026-10-27)
Hailuo lists five plans from $14.99 to $199.99 a month in the paid-plans FAQ on its pricing page (checked 2026-10-27). The plan table loads only after sign-in; these figures are the page’s own FAQ text as served on 2026-10-27. The page also carries other Max figures (27,000 / 30,000 credits) we could not match to a plan. Signed out, the page header shows “From $9.99 /mo”.
Plan | Per month | Limited-time per the page | Credits per month | Our calc.: $ per 100 credits at list price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Standard | $14.99 | $7.99 | 1,000 | $1.50 |
Pro | $54.99 | $24.99 | 4,500 | $1.22 |
Master | $94.99 | $63.99 | 10,000 | $0.95 |
Ultra | $124.99 | none stated | 12,000 | $1.04 |
Max | $199.99 | none stated | 20,000 | $1.00 |
Source: the FAQ on Hailuo’s pricing page, which gives no end date for the limited-time prices.
At list price, Master works out to $0.95 per 100 credits against $1.50 on Standard. Purchased credits expire after one year, per the page, and direct credit purchases get a limited-time bonus of 43% more credits. Per the 2025 terms, membership credits expire after one month without rollover, and failed or review-rejected clips get their credits back automatically.
Hailuo’s subscription terms, last updated 2025-07-14, differ in two places (terms, checked 2026-10-27). They price Master at $119.99, and they keep purchased credits until December 31 of the second calendar year after purchase. The terms also set purchased credits at $1 per 70; the FAQ states no price per credit.
Unlimited use is narrow. Per the FAQ, Ultra unlocks unlimited Hailuo 01 and Max unlimited Hailuo 01 and 02, with no credit consumption. The 2025 terms tie Max’s unlimited Hailuo 02 to Relax Mode, and the legacy Unlimited plan ($94.99, sold only before 2025-06-18) covered Hailuo 01 only. Neither source mentions Hailuo 2.3 or MiniMax H3.
Hailuo’s own per-clip estimate: 1,000 credits make “around 40 6-second 768P videos”, about 25 credits each (vendor claim, model not stated, not our test). At Standard’s list price that is about $0.37 per clip, or $0.20 at the limited-time price (our calculation). Our Hailuo 2.3 clip on Higgsfield Plus cost about $0.24, on a different route.
How to cancel a Hailuo subscription
A paid Hailuo subscriber may cancel at any point in the billing cycle, per its terms (last updated 2025-07-14, checked 2026-10-27). It takes effect at the start of the next cycle, and payments already made are not refunded.
The in-app cancel path on hailuoai.video is not verified as of 2026-10-27, because we have no account there. If you subscribed in a mobile app, cancel through the app store you paid in. A Higgsfield plan is a separate subscription with its own cancel steps.
Hailuo vs Kling
We cannot rank Hailuo against Kling on quality as of 2026-10-27: Kling 3.0 never ran on the start frame of our Hailuo 2.3 clip. One same-input pair is a fictional dog photo (Higgsfield, 2026-10-27): Kling 3.0 (standard mode, 5 s) cost 7.5 credits, and Hailuo 02 (768p, 6 s) cost 6. Per requested second, that is 1.5 credits for Kling 3.0 (7.5 / 5) against 1.0 for Hailuo 02 (6 / 6). It is a price signal on one photo, not a quality verdict; both clips and their defects are on the dog dance page.
The second pair started from one AI-generated photo of two fictional adults, our test character among them (Higgsfield, 2026-10-27): Kling 3.0 again cost 7.5 credits and Hailuo 02 6, and Hailuo 02 again delivered 5.875 s of a requested 6 s. Both clips and their flaws are on the hug video page.
Kling’s own plans and credit rules are on our Kling page.
